LEWISTON – Karla Leandri Rider has joined the staff of Museum L-A as coordinator of collections and visitors programs.

Rider comes from the Bates College Museum of Art, where she was assistant registrar, and the Maine Preservation in Portland. She has worked at several museums and historical sites, including the Victoria Mansion in Portland, museums of Old York, Davis Museum and Cultural Center in Wellesley, Mass., and the Jamaica Plain Historical Society in Massachusetts.

Rider graduated from Boston University with a bachelor of arts degree in art history, and earned a museum studies certificate from Tufts University. She is currently a candidate for a master of arts degree in American and New England studies at the University of Southern Maine.
