AUBURN – Central Maine Community College will conduct evening registration sessions Tuesday, Aug. 12, at the Kenneth Foster Technical Center and Tuesday, Aug. 19, at the Opportunity Center in Avon. Both sessions will run from 5:30 to 7 p.m., and all interested and prospective students are invited.
CMCC staff members from student services, financial aid, admissions and registrar offices will be on-hand to assist and answer questions. Scholarship information will be available, and students will be able to register for spring semester classes that evening.
Payment by check, money order or credit card will be taken. Prepaid books for classes that have reached the minimum number of students will be available for pick-up. Light refreshments will be available.
Bryan Wallace, CMCC student services representative for Franklin County, said the events are a result of the continuing collaboration of the college and the Franklin County Community College Network.
“We are working together to bring more community college courses to Franklin County. This is a great opportunity for residents to learn more about higher education opportunities,” said Wallace.
Fall classes will be offered at four locations: Foster Tech, Mt. Abram High School, the Adult Learning Center in Farmington and Franklin Memorial Hospital. Some of the courses offered include college writing, college algebra, U.S. history and public speaking. The two courses at Franklin Memorial (Intro to Sociology and Developmental Psychology) are online-hybrid courses.
The fall semester begins Tuesday, Sept. 2. A complete listing of fall semester courses offered in Franklin County is available online at http://www.cmcc.edu/FranklinCounty.asp. For more information, contact Wallace at 755-5364 or [email protected].
