FRANKLIN (AP) – A Franklin man is dead and his 8-year-old daughter seriously injured following an ultralight plane crash along the eastern Maine coast.
State police say the two-seat aircraft went down Tuesday night in Taunton Bay in Franklin, about 200 yards from Dwelley Point. Fifty-two-year-old Kenneth Tracy was killed instantly.
His daughter, McKenzie, was pulled from the wreckage and flown to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.
Officials from the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration are headed to Franklin to investigate the cause of the crash.
