GRAY – Maine Wildlife Park will hold its “Creatures of the Night” hike from 8 to 10 p.m., under the light of the full moon, Saturday, Aug. 16.

Park officials recommend that people bring flashlights, and they will cover them with red cellophane for improved night vision. Volunteer guides will be stationed at several wildlife exhibits to talk a bit about the animals’ night life.

The night walk will be canceled if it rains. Call ahead (657-4977) if you have questions about the weather.

The nature store and snack shack will be open to accommodate visitors.

Admission to the park is free for ages 3 and under; $4 for ages 5-12; $6 for adults; and $4.50 for seniors. Groups of 15 or more pay $3 per person.

The park’s popular “Halloween Night Hike” will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24. Rain date is Saturday, Oct. 25, at the same time.

The park has more than 30 species of native wildlife on display, plus wildlife gardens, nature trails and other interactive exhibits and displays. The park is open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. through Nov. 11.
