JAY – The Livermore Falls High School Class of 1949 gathered for a 59-year reunion with a luncheon followed by a business meeting on July 19 at LaFleur’s Restaurant.
Meredith Monk Dalessandro welcomed classmates and gave the blessing before lunch. She asked for a moment of silence for departed members, three of which were added this year: Barbara Stuart Post, Carolyn Bean Merchant and Philip C. Lyman.
Thinking-of-you cards for shut-ins were sent to Leonard Poulin, Richard Dalessandro, Henri Breton, Pauline and Norman Duguay; a get-well card to Ruth LaBrecque; and a sympathy card to Jeannine Lyman.
Winnie Cossette Shink gave a financial report and read correspondence from Charles Chappell, Philip DeSotto, Paul Norman Laverdiere, Lawrence Letourneau, Pauline Pare Duguay and Mary Ann Nichols. Celine Paradis Wells shared pictures taken at a previous reunion.
Being recognized for having July birthdays were Winnie Shink, Norman Paradis, Celine Wells and Meredith Dalessandro.
A contributions of $377 was sent to the high school alumni scholarship fund. The class was reminded to advise of changes of address. One suggestion for next year is to have each class member bring something special that connects him/her to high school years.
A reservation has been made for Saturday, July 18, 2009, at LaFleur’s for the 60-year reunion luncheon.
