AUBURN – The New Auburn Senior Citizens will join the First Auburn Senior Citizens for the annual picnic from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, at Hasty Memorial Armory at Pettengill Park.
There will be doughnuts and coffee in the morning, and hot dogs, hamburgers, corn on the cob, soda and dessert at noon with bingo following. Cost is $4 for members only. New Auburn Seniors who do not know how to get to the park should meet at St. Louis Church between 8:30 and 8:45 a.m. and someone will lead the way.
A meeting was held Aug. 6 with President Virginia Levasseur in charge. August birthdays were noted and small gifts given. A new member, Alice Poulin, was welcomed.
A shore dinner will be held in September. More details will follow.
Trips scheduled are Atlantic City, Sept. 22 to 25, $305; Indian Head, Nov. 15, Christmas party, $65; and Lancaster, Pa., Dec. 8 to 11, Miracle of Christmas Show and guided tour to Amish Experience, $395, open to anyone. Call Jean at 784-5264 for details.
Pot of gold winners were Helen Marsh, Ed Letourneau, Jeanne Starkey, Lucille Deck, Betty Pelchat and Lou Hamel.
A light lunch was served and bingo followed. There will be no open bingo in August. The next meeting will be held Wednesday, Sept. 3.
