This is in response to the letter from Hillary Groves, published Aug. 12, “Give teens a voice.”
It is apparent that her primary function at her stage in life is “hanging out.”
I would like to make a few simple suggestions: She should either get a job, or do some volunteer work, or do both. Her letter does not state that that has been considered. She might find it rewarding, from meeting new friends (who don’t hang out), to developing lifelong skills.
I’m sure she would become a much happier person, and I know the police would approve.
