AUBURN – Mechanics Savings Bank recently hired two computer specialists. Kirk Egge was hired as information technology manager, and Eric Bryant was named network engineer.

Egge administers and maintains Mechanics Savings Bank’s network infrastructure. He previously owned and operated Data Management Solutions in Richmond, Va., where he managed a team of technical professionals in developing network infrastructures.

He holds a bachelor of arts degree in biochemistry and molecular biology as well as a master of science in public health. He resides in Auburn with his wife and their two children.

As network engineer, Bryant is responsible for daily administration and security of the bank’s network, servers and desktop computers, including software and hardware installations and upgrades, IP phone system, and end-user support. He is a Microsoft certified systems engineer, certified Unix administrator, and certified Wide Area Network and Internet security specialist.

Most recently, he was employed as a network administrator for Thos. Moser Cabinetmakers in Auburn. He is a volunteer computer instructor at Central Maine Christian Academy in Lewiston, and plays piano and sings on a worship team at the East Auburn Baptist Church. He resides in Hebron with his wife and their children.
