BAR HARBOR (AP) – Maine will be the host when New England governors and premiers from eastern Canada meet next month to talk about energy, transportation and economic development.

Gov. John Baldacci’s office announced Wednesday that the 32nd annual Conference of New England Governors and Eastern Canadian Premiers will be held in Bar Harbor on Sept. 15 and 16.

The meetings rotate each year between a New England state and one of five eastern Canada provinces. Last year’s conference was held in Prince Edward Island.

The conference is an organization founded in 1973 in recognition of the common issues facing New England and eastern Canada.
