Grange to install

MINOT – Members of Androscoggin Pomona Grange will meet on Wednesday, Sept. 3, at Minot Center Grange for a 6:30 p.m. supper. Installation of officers will be held during the 7:30 meeting.

Present will be Maine State Flora Victoria Huff of Hollis Grange and her installing team. A 50/50 raffle and an attendance drawing will be held.

Cartier to elect

SABATTUS – Jacques Cartier members are reminded that at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5, the monthly meeting will be held with election of executive officers and directors for 2009. All current members are encouraged to attend.

Seniors lunch

AUBURN – The Golden Age Club at Sacred Heart Parish will have its first meeting of the season on Tuesday, Sept. 9. A lunch of American chop suey, salad, bread and coffee/tea will be served for $4. Call Paula for reservations at 576-4082.

Members are asked to bring nonperishable items for St. Louis Food Bank. There will be a board of directors meeting at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2, in the parish hall. Board members who cannot attend should call Paula.

Bridge winners

LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Duplicate Bridge Club met on Aug. 26 at the Multi-Purpose Center. Winners in Flight A were: first, Alberta Turner and Lucille Bilodeau; second, Luke Merry and Mike Quinn; third, David Lock and Patricia Garcia; fourth, Linda Leotsakos and Janet Arey; fifth, Mary Leahey and Patricia Quinn.

Flight B winners were: first, Alberta Turner and Lucille Bilodeau; tied at second, Doug and Betty Sise with Helen Little and Cynthia Bonsey. Tied for first place in Flight C were Doug and Betty Sise with Helen Little and Cynthia Bonsey. Another game will be played at the center at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Sept.r 2. A partner is guaranteed.

The club also met on Aug. 27 at Schooner Estates in Auburn. Winners in Flight A were: first, Anna Vitiello and Lucille Theriault; second, Leslie Lord and Gail Burke; third, Mike and Pat Quinn; fourth, Paul Barber and Luke Merry. Flight B winners were Ron and Connie Reynolds.
