AUBURN – Lewiston-Auburn Community Little Theatre will hold a six-week course in Shakespearean costume construction starting Wednesday, Sept. 3, instructed by CLT’s costume chairwoman, Suzanne Carbonneau.
Participants will learn how to design and sew Elizabethan era costumes fit for any Shakespeare play. Project Costume Design is also a competition. Completed costumes will be displayed during Community Little Theatre’s 69th season opening show, “Kiss Me Kate.”
Audience members will vote and determine “Best Design.” The winning costume designer(s) will receive CLT season tickets for all five shows, and more prizes will be awarded for other categories.
The classes will run from 6 to 8 p.m. every Wednesday through Oct. 9. There will be a bag lunch social hour at 5 p.m. before each class. All materials, notions, patterns and sewing machines will be provided. Classes will be held at CLT in the Great Falls Performing Arts Center, Academy Street.
