AUBURN – Popular children’s musician Rick Charette will perform and sign books and CDs Saturday, Sept. 6, at Percy’s Burrow at the Auburn Mall.

At 11 a.m. sharp, he will perform a few of his most popular songs like “Alligator In The Elevator;” “King Kong’s Chair,” a song about reading; and “I Love Mud.”

Following this short performance, Charette will meet and greet youngsters.

Over his career, Charette has released 10 albums, two children’s picture books and two live concert videos, which are distributed nationally and have sold more than 250,000 copies to date, according to his Web site.

His 10th album and newest collection of original songs, titled “King Kong Chair,” was released in March.

Charette’s music blends original pop tunes and lyrics with activities that promote audience participation. He performs at schools and concerts throughout the United States and Canada. For large concert events, he performs with The Bubblegum Band.

According to his Web site, www.rickcharette.com, Charette’s music has been featured on Peter Pan and Walt Disney Records and been cited in Entertainment Weekly and Billboard magazines. Concert excerpts of his songs are a regular feature on the national cable station “The Learning Channel.”
