MECHANIC FALLS – Harvest Hill Farms’ Maize Quest 2008 has a pirate theme with a giant pirate ship carved in the cornfield. Guests challenging the maze will discover clues and facts about pirate history, use crayon rubbings to collect nine different pictures of famous pirates, decode a secret word and navigate through the twisting puzzle using Maize-o-VisionR decoders to read a hidden map.
Participants will be divided into teams of four to six people and work together to complete the scavenger hunt. Staff members will be available inside the maze to give hints to the frustrated, and participants can use a flag to signal for help if they can’t find the way out.
The cornfield maze will open at 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, and run through Nov. 2. Admission is $8 for ages 13+; $7 for ages 4+; children 3 and younger, free.
