LEWISTON – Northeast Bank and Northeast Financial, the bank’s investment division, are co-hosting a financial workshop from 6 to 8 p.m. Sept. 10 through Lewiston High School’s Adult Education Program. The workshop will be held at Lewiston High School, 156 East Ave.
The workshop’s first section, “Personal Finance and Planning for Today’s Changing Economy,” is designed to give participants insight into today’s economy and real-life solutions to financial challenges. The second section, “Financial Planning and Taxes: How to Plan for Your Retirement,” explains current changes in the tax system and ways to reduce taxes during retirement.
Jim Delamater, president and chief executive officer of Northeast Bank, and John Jenkins, business development officer at Northeast, will discuss the impact of today’s changing economy, the importance of a financial plan and the steps needed for a secure financial future.
Joining them is Christian Bishop, who will present “Financial Planning and Taxes: How to Plan for Your Retirement.” Bishop will help unravel the mystery of taxes and explain ways for participants to help reduce their taxes during retirement.
Cost is $12, which includes all materials (all proceeds support Lewiston Adult Education).
