AUBURN – Opening Oct. 10, L/A Community Little Theatre will present “Kiss Me Kate,” the first musical comedy presented at CLT back in 1956.

“Kiss Me Kate” combines Shakespeare’s “Taming of the Shrew” with Cole Porter’s music and lyrics. This 2000 Tony award-winner for Best Musical Revival is a play-within-a-play, with each cast member’s on-stage life is complicated by what is happening offstage.

Taking the stage will be Mitchell Clyde Thomas as Fred/Petrucchio, Sonja Cutter as Lili/Kate, Katie St. Pierre as Lois/Bianca, William Proulx as Bill/Lucentio and Roger Phillipon and Bruce Bickford as the two gangsters.

Other cast members include David Handley, Ken Mansure, Karen McArthur, Judson Duncan, Phil Vampatella, Anna Bruning, Karen Loggis, Lacey Moyse, Kira Gavin, Audry Martin, James Kramlich, Leah Fournier, Duncan Gelder, Jordan Richmond, Tamarick Peters, Courtney Jones and David Marshall.

“Kiss Me Kate” is directed by David Lock with assistance from Liz Rollins and Don Libby. Other production team members are Raedelle Knight, producer; Vincent Ratsavong, choreographer; Bill Hamilton, set design; Chad Gagnon, lighting; Scott Powers, sound; and Jesse Lynch, music director.

Performances will run Oct. 10-19. For tickets and more information, call 783-0958 or visit www.laclt.com.
