CANTON – People are invited to take a walking tour of the proposed village site at 6 p.m. Monday, weather permitting. The site was selected and land was acquired after the flood buyout of 2004.

The approximately 30 acres with access off routes 140 and 108 can support about 40 single- family homes. These homes will be in the range of $160,000, according to coordinator Diane Ray. They will be ranch style, bi-levels and capes. Lot sizes will allow for construction of a two-car garage.

After the tour, a hearing will be held in the old Municipal Building at 7.

Wright Pierce will present its engineering studies review of the site, with maps showing how the site would be developed.

Planning Board representatives will explain options if the land is sold.

Representatives from The Greater Brunswick Housing Authority will talk about affordable housing and how affordable housing could work.
