HEBRON – Hebron Academy Head of School John King has announced that Thomas A. Fogarty has joined the Hebron staff as assistant head of school for advancement and external relations, replacing Robert Caldwell, who has taken a position at the Holderness School in Holderness, N.H.

Fogarty comes to Hebron from a position as chief development officer at Portland’s Mercy Hospital, where he recently completed a $15 million capital campaign in support of the relocation of the Portland Fore River Campus. Prior to that, he spent three years as vice president for Development and Community Affairs at Central Maine Healthcare in Lewiston, making his home in nearby Auburn.

Fogarty also brings experience in private-school development work to Hebron, having served as director of development at the Wheeler School in Providence, R.I., Mercersburg Academy in Mercersburg, Penn., the Prairie School in Racine, Wis., and the Rectory School in Pomfret, Conn. Himself a graduate of Mercersburg, he went on to take a degree in economics at Fordham University, graduating cum laude in 1983.

Fogarty is a squash and tennis player. He and his wife, Patricia, have five children.
