PORTLAND – Steve Roslonek, better known as SteveSongs, multitalented children’s musician and PBS KIDS preschool destination music teacher, will perform in concert Sunday, Oct. 12, at One Longfellow Square.

The show, also featuring Roslonek’s band and the Sensational Sillies, is part of a fall tour in support of his latest Rounder release “SteveSongs: The Marvelous Musical Adventures” DVD and bonus CD.

The DVD features more than 90 minutes of fun and creative content, including eight live-action and animated feature videos, a live concert and more than 20 minutes of bonus material, with PBS KIDS features, extra videos, outtakes and interviews. The package also includes a seven-song bonus CD, featuring three new tracks and four fan favorites off Roslonek’s last two CDs.

Earlier this year, SteveSongs joined the PBS KIDS preschool destination – the two-hour morning television block and online destination at pbskids.org – as the new music teacher, “Mr. Steve.” He performs interactive original songs and music related to each day’s curriculum theme in between “Curious George,” “Sid the Science Kid,” “Super Why” and “Clifford the Big Red Dog.”

Roslonek’s live shows rock with guitars, vocal-bass and drums, along with the Sensational Sillies on background vocals. Children dance, sing and rarely sit at a SteveSongs concert.

Roslonek has won numerous prestigious awards, including two Parents’ Choice Gold Awards, a NAPPA Honor, an iParenting Media Award and a Children’s Music Web Award.
