PORTSMOUTH, N.H. (AP) – The New Hampshire Transportation Department says one of the three bridges between Portsmouth and Kittery, Maine, will be closed for nearly three weeks.

Major work is scheduled on the Sarah Long Bridge carrying the Route 1 Bypass over the Piscataqua River.

The bridge will be closed to vehicles from Monday, October 27 until Friday, November 14. The channel beneath the draw bridge will be closed to boats from November 10 until the 14.

Spokesman Bill Boynton says land traffic will be detoured to the Interstate 95 Bridge.
