Advocacy vigil

LEWISTON – The Abused Women’s Advocacy Project will host a vigil of remembrance at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, at Raymond Park, corner of Main and Lincoln streets. All community members are welcome to join in support of ending domestic violence.

College visits

WATERVILLE – A representative from Thomas College will visit the following schools on Thursday, Oct. 2:

• Lewiston High School at 9 a.m

• Edward Little High School in Auburn at 10:30 a.m.

• St. Dominic Regional High in Auburn at 1 p.m.

The representative will meet with students to discuss academic and sports programs and residential life opportunities.

Bridge results

LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Duplicate Bridge Club met on Sept. 16 at the Multi-Purpose Center. Flight A winners were: tied at first, Daivd Lock and Patricia Garcia with Luke Merry and Lucille Theriault; third, Jim Flanagan and Martine Begert; fourth Vernon and Jan Arey; fifth, Woodrow Mercier and Richard Balian.

Flight B winners were: first, Paul Sherman and Donna Bartlett; second, Lucille Bilodeau and Alberta Turner. Flight C winners were: first, Paul Sherman and Donna Bartlett; second, Claire Lyons and Helen Little. Another game will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, at the center.

The club also met on Sept. 17 at Schooner Estates in Auburn. Winners in Flight A were: first, Leslie Buzzell and John Hackett; second, Luke Merry and Patricia Quinn; third, David Lock and Jeanine Kivus; fourth, Alberta Turner and Lucille Bilodeau; fifth, Sherry Hinckley and Sally Magee.

Winners in Flight B were: first, Alberta Turner and Lucille Bilodeau; tied at second, Jim Flanagan and Larry Fortier with David Wallace and Tom Dahlberg.

The quarterly club championship will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, at the center. A partner is guaranteed at both games. For more information, call Lucille Theriault at 783-04131.
