LEWISTON – The Vietnam Wall reunion on Saturday, Sept. 27, at the Veterans Memorial Park, will include a special unveiling of plaques recognizing individuals and organizations dedicated to the development of the Veterans Memorial Park.
The plaques will recognize the founders of the L&A Veterans Council Inc., including Joseph A. Paradis, responsible in obtaining the park from the city.
Other members include Arthur W. Bentz, Paul R. Bernard, Charles A. Berube, Don Bilodeau, Raymond Boulet, Armand J. Bussiere, William Bradbury, Charles R. Burns, Georgette N. Cain, Warren K. A plaque recognizing the organizations that served the council from 1998 to 2008 will also be unveiled. The groups include American Legion Post 22, Lewiston; Memorial Post 111, Turner; Harry J. Conway Post 135, Sabattus; New Auburn Post 153 and Sons of the American Legion Post 153; Memorial Post 210, Disabled American Veterans, Lewiston; Franco American War Veterans Post 31 and Auxiliary Post 31; Veterans of Foreign Wars, Captain Frank W. Hulett Post 1603 and Auxiliary 1603, Auburn; Longley Dionne Post 9150and Auxiliary 9150, Lewiston; Marine Corps League Central Maine Detachment 810, Auburn; Lunn-Hunnewell Post 6, Amvets, New Gloucester; Military Order of the Purple Heart, Lewiston; and the Women Marines Association.
