RUMFORD – William and Eileen Sullivan of Bridgewater, N.J., are announcing the engagement of their daughter, Amy Beth Sullivan of New York, N.Y., to James Arthur Meader of New York, N.Y., son of Arthur and Sheila Meader of Rumford.

Miss Sullivan is a 1997 graduate of the Wardlaw-Hartridge School in Edison, N.J., and a 2001 graduate of New York University in New York City with a bachelor’s degree in communications studies. In 2003 she received her master’s degree from New York University in speech and interpersonal communications with a minor in psychology. She is currently employed as senior manager of events at the New York Landmarks Conservancy in New York City.

Mr. Meader is a 1997 graduate of Mountain Valley High School in Rumford and a 2002 graduate of Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vt., with a bachelor’s degree in literary studies and Chinese. He is currently employed as director of publicity at the literary publisher Picador in New York City.

A ceremony will be held at 3:30 p.m., Oct. 11, at Park Avenue Methodist Church in New York City, with an evening reception at the Ritz Carlton, Battery Park, to follow.
