The Maine State Ballet will present “Can-Can Parisien,” a spirited, high-kicking comedy set in a 19th century fashionable French café, over two weekends: Oct. 17-18 and Oct. 24-25. The 45-minute one-act ballet features hilarious nightlife antics and lively ensemble dancing set to the music of Jacques Offenbach. Famous cancan steps, complete with cartwheels, kicks and ruffled skirts, highlight the finale. Jonathan Miele, above, portrays Pasquale the tourist. Performances will be at 7 p.m. Friday and at 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday at the Maine State Ballet Theater in Falmouth. Tickets are $12. Advance tickets recommended. Call 781-7672.
