RUMFORD – The Swampdonkeys, Maine’s traditional urban folk band, will return to the Black Mountain base lodge Saturday, Oct. 25, for an evening of fun, eating and entertainment.

Hailing from western Maine, “The Donks” incorporate styles of old time, bluegrass, Canadian Maritime, Irish and modern rock. From “Lord Lord” to “Charlie on the MTA,” the band appeals to a wide variety of audiences with its rich texture of instruments, three-part harmonies and plucky, playful songwriting.

The Swampdonkeys comprises Ted Tibbitts, Michael Hayashida and John Gunn who play the mandolin, guitar, fiddle, ukulele and bodhran.

The cafe and Last Run Lounge will open at 5 p.m., with the Swampdonkeys to perform at 7 p.m. Tickets for the 21-plus show are $8. They are available at Community Energy or by calling Black Mountain at 364-8977.
