LEWISTON – The Lewiston CareerCenter, 5 Mollison Way, will host a workshop “Money Matters: Winning Ways to Stretch Your Dollar in Today’s Economy,” from 3-4:30 p.m. on Oct. 21.

The workshop will be facilitated by David M. Leach, principal consumer credit examiner at the Bureau of Consumer Credit Protection. Those attending can learn about the use and repayment of credit cards, improving credit history and credit scores, buying and financing a vehicle, strategies to make dollars go further, rights and responsibilities in dealing with a debt collector, and avoiding financial scams and ripoffs

Leach has 20 years’ experience at the Bureau of Consumer Credit Protection and in the Maine Bureau of Financial Institutions. He also serves as an adjunct faculty member in the University of Maine system teaching banking courses, and holds a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Maine.
