Halloween party
WILTON – The Wilton Early Childhood Center is sponsoring a Halloween party for children through the fourth grade at the Cushing School from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 25.
Academy Hill, Mt. Blue Middle and Mt. Blue High school students will help the youngsters with games and projects. The children are invited to wear their costumes. Admission is $1 a child; adults, free. Hot dogs, apple juice and cookies will be available for a small fee.
Proceeds will help fund the early childhood programs of the center. Everyone is welcome. Call 645-3082 for more information.
Plan for sale
LIVERMORE FALLS – The Livermore Falls Women’s Club recently held two workshops at the home of Co-President Lucille Lavoie in preparation for the fall conference to be held Friday and Saturday, Oct. 24 and 25, at the Holiday Inn.
The conference is an opportunity for individual clubs to raise money for their charities.
This year the local club will sell pillar candles decorated with various logos and dip mixes assembled into gift packages. Other craft items have also been made for the sale.

DAR to meet
TEMPLE – Melanie Farmer will host the Colonial Daughters Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, at her home at noon Tuesday, Oct. 28.
A potluck luncheon will be furnished by the members. Speaker Mary Jane Densmore will talk to the women about the Opportunity Farm Brick Walkway.
Guests are invited to attend all DAR gatherings.
Takeout meal
NEW SHARON – A family baked bean takeout meal will be available will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 1, at the New Sharon Congregational United Church of Christ, Cape Cod Hill Road. Meal includes a quart of baked beans, a pint of coleslaw, yeast rolls or brown bread and a family-size homemade pie for $15. To reserve meals, call Mary at 778-2366.
