LEWISTON – Central Maine Obstetrics-Gynecology, 12 High St., has been recognized by the American College of Nurse-Midwives with its Golden “With Women for a Lifetime” commendation. It is the first midwifery service in Maine, and only the second in New England, to receive the award.
The ACNM Golden Commendation is awarded to midwifery practices or services that are 20 years or older. Other requirements include that the midwives must be ACNM members, offer unique programs for women, expand access to care through community outreach efforts, and be committed to teaching/precepting midwifery students for at least half of the time the service has been open
The certified nurse-midwife staff at Central Maine Obstetrics-Gynecology includes Susan Jacoby, Jane Mills and Cheri Sarton.
