GRAY – A freakish cast of zombies will rise from the dead at the Gray/New Gloucester Middle School at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25. The public is invited to witness this macabre, but entertaining event as the GNG Middle School’s Green Curtain Theater joins dancers worldwide in an attempt to make the Guiness Book of World Records.

When the opening strains of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” begins at precisely 2 p.m., the zombie dancers made up of students in grades 6, 7 and 8 will join other undead dancers in 96 cities and 12 countries in the record-breaking attempt.

The event was started two years ago by a dance instructor who wanted to spread her love of dance to everyone, even nondancers. “Thriller” was chosen because it is an iconic song popular throughout the world and fun to dance to.

Dance cast members have been practicing for several weeks and have their moves down cold.

Doors will open at 1:30 p.m. A reception for the public will follow the event. To learn more, visit
