GRAY (AP) – The National Weather Service says a number of Maine towns and cities got record amounts of rainfall in the storm that blew across the state Sunday.

According to the weather service, Portland got 1.88 inches, breaking the record for the date of 1.41 inches, set in 1898.

Bangor got a got a record 1.4 inches of rain, Millinocket got a record 2.4 inches and Caribou got a record 2.12 inches.
