1. Deering (8-0): There are better rewards for a perfect regular season than facing Gorham in the first round of the playoffs.
2. Lawrence (8-0): It’s hard to imagine the Bulldogs kicking their game up another notch, but that’s what they seem to do this time every year.
3. Thornton (8-0): Now we’ll see if the York County/Cumberland County divide is as great as some down south say it is. But you can’t penalize the Trojans for dominating their schedule.
4. Bonny Eagle (6-2): All the Scots have done since their crushing defeat to Deering is outscore Portland and Gorham, 94-14. But facing a John Wolfgram team for the second time in a season may be a little unsettling.
5. Mountain Valley (8-0): Maybe the best thing about Friday night’s annual slugfest with Cape Elizabeth is there won’t be any boom mikes around.
6. Edward Little (7-1): Remember this: the Red Eddies have a weapon no one else in the PTC playoffs has, and that’s Cody Goddard’s right arm.
7. Windham (6-2): 2007 to 2008 turnaround is SMAA’s equivalent of Edward Little.
8. Skowhegan (7-1): Billy Clark literally ran away with the PTC rushing title after another 300-plus game last week.
9. Lewiston (7-1): Tough to decide if facing Bangor a week after getting banged up by EL is the best or worst thing that could happen to the Blue Devils.
10. Leavitt (7-1): Hornets proved at Hoch Field they’re still the best of the deep PTC B.
