Local church observes centennial anniversary
AUBURN – The Auburn Church of the Nazarene joined its brothers and sisters around the world in celebrating the centennial anniversary of the International Church of the Nazarene on Oct. 5.
One hundred paper handprints lined the sanctuary as Christian singing group 4 Plus 1 opened the service in song. Ninety-five people were in attendance for the special centennial message delivered by the Rev. Eric M. Larsen, pastor of the Auburn Church of the Nazarene for the last eight years. The service ended with a special communion.
A special attraction was that of several articles, photos, bulletins and church records, which date back to the incorporation of the Auburn church in 1919. Many long-standing members shared memories of their time in the church over the years.
The festivities ended with refreshments in the fellowship hall featuring a decorated cake.
