PARIS – The annual Tree of Caring project is under way at the Maine Veterans’ Home in Paris. The project is sponsored by the Western Maine Veterans Advisory Committee.
Bulbs can be purchased for $5 each and can be in honor of someone or in memory of a loved one. All proceeds directly support the activities and special needs of the home’s residents. Supporting the activities program is the sole mission of the committee
A replica of the Tree of Caring, with bulbs, each bearing a recipient’s name, is displayed in the lobby from Thanksgiving through New Year’s Day.
The official lighting of the tree will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, at the facility. The public is welcome.
Bulbs can be purchased at the facility or by mailing a check made out to WMVAC and information to Richard Young, 159 Paris Hill Road, South Paris, ME 04281. For more information, call the facility at 743-6300 and ask for Megan Batchelder or Alyce Rich.
