MONMOUTH – Voters on Tuesday elected three people to serve on the town’s new school board, one of them a write-in candidate.

Three Monmouth seats were open on the Kennebec Intra-District Schools board, which will oversee the newly consolidated school district of Monmouth, Dresden, Farmingdale, Hallowell and Richmond.

Three seats were open but only two people – James Grandahl and Richard Howard – ran for election. The third seat had to be filled through write-in votes.

That write-in winner was Tracey Woodman, who received 96 votes. Grandahl received 1,562 votes, while Howard got 1,750.
