Home-school participants at the Paris Public Library enjoy food from the countries of Scandinavia.

Library program going to Japan and India

PARIS – The Paris Public Library’s program for home-schoolers is visiting Japan and India in November.

Every second and fourth Tuesday of the month, the Paris Public Library invites home-school children, grades three and up, to explore geography and world cultures through folk tales, fairy tales and other stories specific to a country.

The programs, from 11 a.m. to noon, include sharing geographical and cultural information, listening to stories about the country, making connections, working on map and flag activities and sampling a food from the nation.

On Nov. 11, the focus will be Japan, and on Nov. 25, the program will look at India.
