United Way sponsoring annual charity auction

FARMINGTON – The United Way of the Tri-Valley Area will hold its annual charity auction on Saturday, Nov. 15, in the Ben Franklin Center’s Bass Room at Franklin Memorial Hospital. Auction preview will begin at 5 p.m., with bidding on live and silent auction items starting at 6.

Auction items include handmade furniture, a kayak package, a whitewater rafting trip, restaurant gift certificates, antique hooked rug, vacation packages, fitness center memberships, granite bench and rustic bentwood garden trellis, antique steamer trunk, $500 savings bond and handmade quilts.

Money raised helps the United Way reach its campaign goal of $395,000 to support initiatives that impact the community. They range from helping people learn to read through the support of Literacy Volunteers to ensuring people stay warm this winter.

The auction is free and open to the public. There will be hors d’oeuvres. RSVP are asked by calling 778-5048.
