LEWISTON – Pete Francis is coming to Bates College in Lewiston on Saturday, Nov. 15 at 8 p.m. From the stages of sold out arenas to the most intimate club settings, New York City’s Francis has been delivering his signature sound to the masses for more than a decade.

Known for his sincere, pull-no-punches songwriting and lyrical prowess, the former singer/songwriter of the indie sensation DISPATCH is continuing to make waves, this time as a solo artist. Featuring a coolly laid back and thoroughly optimistic musical style, Francis’ work is utterly contagious.

Attracting not only fans of his previous work with DISPATCH, but new fans along the way, momentum is in Francis’ favor. With his latest studio album in stores and a new band, Pete Francis and the Flyers, at his side, Francis is enjoying a monumental 2008.

“Iron Sea and the Cavalry,” released on his own Scrapper Records through Red Eye, contains 10 classic Francis tracks. Transforming his passion for art, poetry and music from around the world into tangible songs, “Iron Sea” showcases Francis staying true to his indie roots. Pushing the boundaries of his own creativity, Pete Francis and the Flyers rip through folk, jam, rock, pop, folk and reggae numbers seamlessly.

Backed by the Flyers’ musical versatility and tight stage presence, featuring combinations of sax, acoustic and electric guitars, pedal steel, drums and bass, the new Pete Francis is the best one yet.

Be sure to join Francis at Bates College in Lewiston on Saturday, Nov. 15 at 8 p.m.
