FARMINGTON – Monica Judith Thomas and Kenneth Lee Pangelinan were united in marriage Sept. 20 at Henderson Memorial Baptist Church in Farmington. The Rev. Garry Hamilton from First Assembly of God in Auburn, N.H., officiated the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Cynthia Allen Thomas of Strong. Lorraine DeMarsh of Farmington stood in as the self-adopted mother of the bridegroom. The wedding was attended by family and friends from Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Arizona and California.

A close friend of the bride, Courtney Huff from New Hampshire was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Amy Flores also a friend from New Hampshire, and Tasha Allen, a cousin of the bride, from Farmington. Amaya Thomas from Jay, niece of the bride, was the flower girl.

Ken Moreland of California, a long-time friend of the bridegroom, stood as the best man. Groomsmen were good friends, Andrew Sturtevant from Fayette and Michael Monahan from Farmington. The ring bearer was Evan Thomas from Jay, nephew of the bride.

The bride wore a white satin A-line halter gown with lace, beadwork and a chapel train. The church was decorated in navy, white and silver. The ceremony included a song written and sung by the mother of the bride and a family prayer time over the couple. The first act of the married couple was to receive communion before Rev. Hamilton introduced them to the congregation.

A reception followed at the North Dining Hall of the UMF Olsen Center. Guests watched a video called “In the Beginning,” which featured a musical photo presentation of the couple from childhood to adulthood, interviews of both talking about how they met and fell in love and a final picture collage of a sampling of their activities as a couple.

A buffet lunch was served followed by the couple’s first dance, which was choreographed by Sheena Thomas, sister-in-law of the bride. Other activities included the cake cutting ceremony, throwing of the bouquet and dancing. Jason Thomas, brother of the bride, was the reception MC. The couple left for their honeymoon amid a flurry of bubbles as guests sent them on their way.

The bride is a 2000 graduate of Mt. Abram High School in Salem and has spent the last three years working as an electrical engineer in New Hampshire. She is currently pursuing a doctoral degree.

The bridegroom is a 1991 graduate of Lemoore High School in Lemoore, Calif., and is an enrolled agent for the IRS and the owner of Tax Resolutions Specialist Inc., (TRS) which is a local accounting firm that contracts and services clientele throughout the United States going into is ninth year in business.

The couple will make their home in Farmington.
