PARIS – Longtime Judge of Probate Dana Hanley of Paris, a Republican, won re-election over Democrat challenger Paul Dumas of Mexico, 15,565 to 14,827, Deputy Secretary of State Julie Flynn said Monday.
In the Register of Probate position, incumbent Republican Tom Winsor of Norway trailed Democrat challenger Bruce Rood, 14,778 to Rood’s 15,130. Rood is from Waterford.
Winsor filed for a recount Friday, Flynn said.
“The vote is within 2 percent. The recount will give me an opportunity to look at the final numbers and to learn if there are any abnormalities in the voting,” Winsor said Monday.
Flynn also said the first of the recounts for two other Oxford County elected positions will likely begin next week.
