November 19: Marketing Basics presented by Greg Gould, Maine SBDC

The River Valley Technology Center, the River Valley Growth Council and the River Valley Chamber of Commerce are proud to present another great Business Lunch and Learn opportunity.

The seminar will run from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 19, at the River Valley Technology Center, 60 Lowell Street, Rumford. The cost is $10 and includes your lunch. River Valley Chamber of Commerce members pays only $8. Pre-payment is required; there will be no refunds issued. This seminar will explore the fundamental principles of marketing and how they influence marketing strategies. Participants will learn about sustainable competitive advantages; how and where to do market research, as well as why it is essential for success; effective advertising strategies; and a general understanding of how to be more appealing to their target market.

The presenter is Gregory Gould. Greg is a Certified Business Counselor in the Auburn office of the Maine Small Business Development Center hosted by AVCOG. Gould holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and a Masters in Business Administration, both from the University of Rhode Island. Professionally, he has held various positions with large corporations and small businesses. Gould’s résumé comprises working for Chrysler Credit Corporation, working as a marketing consultant with Volkswagen of America, and spending several years in automotive retail and management, including managing his family’s automobile dealership. When Greg joined the Maine SBDC team in August 2001, he also brought significant expertise in strategic planning, financial management, and labor relations.

Lunch and Learn Seminars provide information to entrepreneurs, start-ups and existing businesses in an affordable way. Anyone can gather resources and information for long-term success. In addition, the seminars are intended to facilitate networking among businesses or entrepreneurs in similar activities.
