“Tourism Marketing Workshop,” Nov. 18, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., at the University of Maine at Farmington. Effectively marketing to customers is one of the largest challenges facing tourism businesses in Franklin County. This interactive workshop will explore the fundamentals of marketing and marketing plans. Registration is required. Space is limited. $10 is payable at workshop for lunch and materials. “Starting a Small or Home-Based Business: Steps to Success,” Nov. 18, 20 and 25, 6-9 p.m., Forster Memorial Building, Strong. This free three-part series is designed for potential and start-up businesses. The interactive format will help attendees develop ideas, answer questions, learn effective ways to do market research and apply it in making wise business decisions. “Free Farm Energy Workshop,” Nov. 21, 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Hardy Farm, Farmington. Walt Isgro, an energy auditor from Efficiency Maine, will meet with interested farmers and community members to review the process and findings of an energy audit recently completed for the Hardy Farm as part of the Harvesting Clean Energy Program of the Farm Energy Partners Network. The presentation is the second of two workshops on farm energy audits offered this year. The workshop is free but registration is requested.
