After an official recount, Deb Simpson of Auburn remains the winner of the race for state Senate District 15, prevailing over Republican incumbent Lois Snowe-Mello of Poland by 104 votes.

State election officials in Augusta completed the recount late Friday afternoon. Simpson received 10,058 votes to Snowe-Mello’s 9,954, after the final tally.

Totals from Election Day unofficially had Simpson ahead of Snowe-Mello by 102 votes, leading with 10,019 to 9,917.

The recount was the second of seven requested statewide.
