WINTHROP (AP) – A Tennessee company that provides messaging services to doctors is expanding to Winthrop, where it plans what will be the largest of its seven contact centers nationwide.
State, local and industry leaders, including Gov. John Baldacci, joined in the announcement Tuesday by NotifyMD of Franklin, Tenn., which plans to employ 200 workers at the site over the nexr two years.
NotifyMD, which opened a center in Farmington two years ago, is moving into 21,000 square feet of leased space at the former Carleton Mills.
NotifyMD provides messaging services to doctors, including after-hours messaging and automated patient reminders.
It has a client base of about 18,000 physicians in more than 40 states.
