RUMFORD – The Rumford Community concert Associated is pleased to present pianist Jade Simmons at Muskie Auditorium on Friday, Nov. 21 at 7:30 p.m.

Jade Simmons is a native of Charleston, S.C. She is passionate about the role of the arts in education and created “Mozart on the Move,” a program that was used with great success in the Houston public school system.

An electryfying pianist, Simmons is committed to broadening the boundaries of classical music. Conservatory-trained at Rice University and at the Foundation Bell’ Arte in Brussels, she has performed extensively across Europe and the U.S., with many performances broadcast on PBS and NPR affiliates.

In spring 2007, she continued reducational activities under the auspices of the Van Cliburn’s Foundation’s “Musicial Awakenings” series, visiting 20 local schools throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

An artist with a social conscicnee that moves her to action, Simmons serves as an advocate for America’s youth, addressing groups across the country on snesitive issues such as suicide prevention and youth violence.

Rumford Community Concert Association volunteers will be available at this concert to assist anyone who would like to join. All membershipss are $40, children 18 and under are free when accompanied by an adult.
