AUGUSTA (AP) – Gov. John Baldacci is in Canada for two days as part of a trade mission. Baldacci’s visit to Toronto on Thursday and Friday is part of a weeklong trade mission organized through the Maine International Trade Center, a nonprofit that provides trade counseling and technical assistance.
Participating businesses were in Vancouver, British Columbia, earlier this week before flying to Toronto on Wednesday. The trip allows businesses to meet one-on-one with prospective business partners in Canada, which is Maine’s biggest trade partner.
Last year, Baldacci made a weeklong trade mission to South Korea and Japan, and he has previously visited Cuba and France.
and other countries to promote Maine products.
