HANOVER, Ind. – Junior Tyler Jasud of Rumford and freshman Alex Gomes of the Univeristy of Southern Maine men’s cross country team each finished in the top 100 at the NCAA Division III National Championship Saturday afternoon.

Jasud finished 43rd among the 278 finishers, while Gomes came home in the 97th place overall. Jasud covered the eight-kilometer course in 25 minutes and 5.35 seconds. His time was less than six seconds behind the final All-American spot (35th). Gomes posted a time of 25:36.90 and was the seventh finisher among the first-year runners competing.

Junior Peter Kosgei of Hamilton College was the individual winner with a time of 24:22.03.
