The CareerCenter Employment and Training Orientation is held every Monday from 10 a.m.-noon. Offered is an explanation of training programs and career exploration. The workshop also provides a brief introduction to the Wilton CareerCenter services.

The CareerCenter and Job Search Orientation is held every Tuesday from 9 a.m.-noon. This presentation will give attendees an overview of what is available to assist people who are looking for work.

“Résumé Writing,” Dec. 1 and Dec. 15, from 1:30-3 p.m. A résumé and cover letter is a reflection of a person’s knowledge, skills and abilities. Those attending must bring work and educational history.

“O*Net Ability Profiler,” Dec. 5, 9 a.m.-noon. This is a career exploration tool that helps clients plan work lives using a paper and pencil format with optional apparatus parts and computerized scoring.

“Preparing Your Resume for Online Applications,” Dec. 8, from 1:30-3 p.m. Designed to help attendees format their résumés to be attached to an on-line application. Those attending must bring work and educational history.

“CareerCenter Youth Orientation,” Dec. 11, from 10 a.m.-noon. Designed for people aged 16-21 who are looking for a job. It offers guidance about which careers might fit best. The youth orientation also introduces participants to services at the Wilton CareerCenter.

“Creating Your Professional Portfolio,” Dec. 11, from 10-11 a.m. Creating a personal portfolio allows people to document their acquisition of knowledge, skills and expertise.

“Ace That Interview!” Dec. 11, from 1-3 p.m. Learn how to prepare for a successful job interview.

“MEOC 101 – Essentials of College Planning,” Dec. 18, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. This workshop will offer instructions on filling out financial aid forms to assist in getting the maximum amount in grants or loans. Those interested in attending must pre-register for this session by calling 1-800-281-3703.
