PORTLAND – Broadway star Kenita Miller will lead the cast in Good Theater’s upcoming Broadway at Good Theater holiday concerts Dec. 4-7 at St. Lawrence Arts Center.

Miller starred on Broadway as Miss Celie in “The Color Purple,” earning rave reviews for her performance. She has also performed on Broadway as the lead in “Xanadu.” She toured nationally as Sarah in “Ragtime” and has appeared in numerous Off-Broadway productions.

Among the songs Miller will sing are “Waiting For Life” from “Once on This Island” and “O Holy Night.”

Bryant Lanier, who performed the role of Jalvert in the national tour of “Les Miserables” and toured nationally in “42nd Street,” will lend his bass/baritone to “You’re a Mean One Mr. Grinch.” He will also sing “Anything You Can Do” from “Annie Get Your Gun” with Good Theater favorite Lynne McGhee.

Making her third appearance with Broadway at Good Theater, singer Marva Pittman will wrap her lush vocals around a gospel number, “Do You Know What I Mean,” and sing holiday favorite “I’ll Be Home for Christmas.”

The newest addition to the Good Theater cast is Joseph Stanek of New York City, a young lyric baritone who will sing “What Do I Need With Love” from “Thoroughly Modern Millie” and will perform a tap-dancing “Up on the Housetop.”

A three-piece band, led by musical director Victoria Stubbs, will accompany singers. Brian P. Allen will direct the concert.

Tickets are $25 for Thursday evening and the Saturday matinee, and $30 for Friday and Saturday evenings and the Sunday matinee. Call 885-5883. Good Theater is at 76 Congress St.
