LEWISTON – The Bates College men’s basketball squad battled back from a 30-24 halftime deficit to defeat the University of Southern Maine Tuesday night at Alumin Gymnasium.

The Bobcats (2-1) held the Huskies (1-3) to 4 of 30 shooting from the from the field while enjoying a 42-15 scoring advantage in the second half.

Chris Wilson led Bates with 15 points, while Brian Ellis chipped in with 14 and 10 rebounds. The Huskies were paced by Greg Whitaker with a 15-point performance, while Kione Morgan added 11.
