The new block which is being built for the National Shoe and Leather Bank of Auburn at Turner and Court streets, will be the first building constructed of reinforced concrete in the two cities. It also will be the only fire proof structure here. The floors only are built of reinforced concrete, the walls being of granite and brick. When finished it will be one of the handsomest in the State.

Reinforced concrete is “the thing” in modern architecture. It does away with all woodwork except the finish and furnishings and separates every floor by a stone wall which fire and water cannot penetrate.
