PORTLAND – The USM Southworth Planetarium will host its first-ever CD release concert Saturday, Dec. 6, with singer/songwriter Carolyn Currie performing songs from her new CD, “Waves of Silence,” and her other CDs. Currie’s music has been described as “contemporary folk music incorporating both cosmic and Celtic elements.”
The concert will begin at 8:30 p.m. Admission is $8 for adults, advanced tickets; $10 at the door; and $4/$5 for children. Call 780-4249.
The planetarium will also feature its annual “Season of Light” show focusing on the astronomy and history of the holiday season. What was the Star of Bethlehem? What is the origin of the Christmas Tree and the Hanukkah Menorah? Who were the magi?
